The A-State Equine Center was built in November, 2000. The project grew from just a single barn to a covered arena with adjacent pastures. The entire complex now covers 40 acres and houses a fifty-two stall barn with all the major amenities including stalls, tack rooms, spacious wash racks, a 300’ X 165’ covered arena, bleachers, sound system, and parking lot.

The Equine Center also contains areas for riding instruction and a classroom equipped for teaching equine production and management that doubles as a hospitality room for area events, such as regional FFA contests.

The Garry Meadows Arena was named for the contractor who donated his labor preparing the land for construction. The entrance to the Equine Center, Fielder Road, is named for Lawrence Fielder, another contractor who assisted with the land preparation.

  2. Provide a boarding facility to students and alumni of A-State.

  4. Provide and promote an educational environment in which equine enthusiasts can gain horsemanship knowledge and improve their skill level in the events they enjoy.

    RATES & RESERVATIONS

    Main Lodge Package (sleeps eight): For small retreats or family gatherings. Three Bedrooms: one king, two queens. Includes main lodge (with bedding, linens and starter set of paper products), pond and trail access and up to six stalls in the main stables. Six-horse limit. No pets. No smoking. $1,300/week +tax (six nights), $250/night +tax (six-night minimum stay, when reservations made 60 or more days in advance. Three-night minimum stay when reservations made less than 60 days in advance).

    Campground/Equestrian Package (21 camping sites): This camper and horseman’s dream includes 21 campsites; use of main stables and indoor and outdoor arena; and access to trails, comfort station and picnic shelter; Limits: two camping units/site; three horses/site or 63 horses total; $1,300/week +tax (six nights), $250/night +tax (six-night minimum stay when reservations made 60 or more days in advance. Three-night minimum stay when reservations made less than 60 days in advance). Individual campsites are not rentable.

    Full Retreat Package: Reserve both the lodge and campground/equestrian package for the same period and receive 20 percent refund after stay.

    Rental periods: Six-night minimum stay when reservations made 60 or more days in advance. Three-night minimum stay when reservations made less than 60 days in advance. Guest orientation available by appointment.

    • Check in after 2 p.m. first day of rental. Check out by 10 a.m. last day of rental.
    • Firewood must be bark-free or certified.
    • $250 refundable damage deposit, required at time of booking

    Payment: Payment by credit card or check. Half payment plus damage deposit is due at time of booking. Full payment is due within 90 days of arrival.
