When you feel anger, negativity, fear or sadness, do you turn your heart to God? Many Christians are fearful of bringing negative emotions to the Lord because they feel they need to be perfect when addressing Him. They may believe that they cannot speak to God about feelings that steer them away from the Word. This cannot be further from the truth!

Prayer to Stop Talking Negatively
Prayer to Stop Talking Negatively
Father,
I admit that my confession has been at best fruitless and often even damning to myself and others. I receive Your salvation from the curse in every area of my life. My eyes are set on You and my ears are tuned now to Your voice. I choose words that agree with Your Word. I choose to “call things that are not as I thought they were,” words of faith and not fear. Today, I will shout joyful things like: “This is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice in it!” and, “The Lord’s right hand has done mighty things!” If my neighbors hear any shouting from my home, it won’t be arguing or strife or frustration. It will be joyous sounds of praise to You. Help me overcome negativity and bring You in!
Amen!
Prayer for Fear
Prayer for Fear
Father God,
I am afraid. I admit it. I need Your protection; I need you to rescue me.
I ask You to banish the fear. Panic is its own threat to me. The chemical toxins released by fear cripple my body and my mind. Anxiety sickens me and brings out the darker elements of my soul. Yes, I am learning to trust You and to lean into Your love and rest that comes from a confidence of Your goodness, but I still struggle and suffer the damages of the radioactive debris that my fears leave behind.
Today, give me the grace of love which will then set me free from fear! I will trust You in this, that as I give what I receive fear will be displaced and sent to the pit of hell where it belongs.
Amen.
Prayer for Stress
Prayer for Stress
Lord,
I worry. Fear is a real enemy. Finances, a difficult decision, a conflict with a partner, a challenge in my work scenario… these situations matter. I know You are not asking me to deny reality here. I’m not. But whatever my case, imagined or real, I turn the worry portion of this situation back to You, here and now. Settle my stress. Calm my anxiety and the agitation in my body. I see myself handing this entire matter into Your strong and good hand. As I do that now, I won’t neglect to add, “Thank you!”
In Jesus’ name, Amen!

I feel as though I am losing my grip and can barely hang on a moment longer. In desperation, I reach my hand to You, God. Grab me! Pull me out of this mess! Hear my earnest prayer! I give my life to You today, every bit of it. I’m Yours. Help me. Be my God. No longer will I build my life on shifting sand. You are my rock, and with Your help, I will establish my life on Your firm foundation. Deliver me from this pit, and I will praise You. I will tell of Your great wonders. I will make known Your wonderful ways, steadfast love, and unending power. Thank you! I know You hear me and that You save the humble and contrite of heart. Forgive me for my decisions, actions, and attitudes that got me to this place. I receive Your forgiveness and power to change. And as I am forgiven, I forgive each person that has contributed to my temporary defeat, for my victory is at hand. You are here.
Amen.
Prayer to Stop Judgement
Prayer to Stop Judgement
Father,
I lay down my self-imposed responsibility of judging the heart, motives, intentions, and actions of the people in my life. You have instructed me in this, and I will obey You. I remove the back-breaking burden of being the judge, and I repent of the pride in my life that is evident every time I have a critical, judgmental thought. You have commanded me to walk in forgiveness and love, to rise above offenses, and to walk humbly with You. I choose that road today. I submit my thoughts to You – each and every one – for approval, choosing loving thoughts and not condemning thoughts, compassionate thoughts not critical thoughts. And kindly remove the log in my eye. Thank you.
In Jesus’ Name and with the help of the Holy Spirit, Amen.
Prayer Against Anger
Prayer Against Anger
Father,
Without Your help, I will never win this battle with rage. But Your Word says that, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” I am counting on Your strength to help me ward off anger. I renounce it in Jesus’ Name. I repent of holding on to anger and giving the devil a foothold in my life and relationships. I am determined to follow Your Word, to study it, memorize it, meditate on it, and declare it until You have renewed my mind, giving me the mind of Christ – a mind at peace with God, at peace with myself, and at peace with others. This is possible only through the shedding of Your blood, the atoning of my sin on the Cross, for which I am eternally grateful. I submit myself wholeheartedly to Your grace and forgiveness. Teach me to be your disciple. Give me godly leaders to follow and a Church Body to walk alongside. I receive from you the ability to put away anger!
